Lindsay Gillespie, IALD relocated from New York City to Los Angeles and joined the team at FKA Associates as Senior Project Designer. She brings 14 years of experience to FKA Associates in the field of lighting design. Her passion for the field was decided early on and henceforth she delved into the pursuit of light and lighting after returning from 4 years in Japan where she completed her undergraduate studies. Her first job in lighting was manufacturing custom high-end fixtures for a company in New York City. From there her pursuit of lighting design expanded to the design of light in space. She went on to be studio manager for Leni Schwendinger Light Projects where she worked on Public Art projects using light and projection, in addition to specialized architectural lighting projects.

Her architectural lighting career went on to continue and has given her the honor to work with such prestigious architects as Steven Holl and Frank Gehry while Senior Designer at L’Observatoire International. In addition to architectural lighting and consultation, she also has designed lighting for dance performances and multimedia events. On a more intimate level, Lindsay has a passion for light and materials and has designed and manufactured light sculptures and light objects, which have been commissioned by private clients and interior design firms, as well as featured in gallery exhibitions in New York City.

Lindsay Gillespie possesses formal training in the field of architectural lighting from Parsons School of Design where she received an M.F.A in lighting design and later went on to be an instructor. She keeps abreast of the latest digital lighting technologies and computer applications related to the field of lighting design and light in 3D animation. Her training, together with 11 years of senior lighting design and project management gives her the ability to offer the client the conceptual and technical lighting expertise required for a wide range of projects from sports arenas to boutique hotels to computer animated environments.
