Positioned at key roadway intersections, the Santa Monica Civic Center Parking Structure serves as the “front door” to the entire civic center, easily identifiable as an entry marker. The architectural goals were to recreate the notion of a parking structure as transparent, distinctive luminous quality, and optimal for daylight and views. The results are a soft glowing lantern with layers of color and luminous sparkle, marking a welcoming impression of the Santa Monica Civic Center.
